The National Right to Life Committee, the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, today praised President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Michigan pro-life activist and philanthropist Betsy DeVos to serve as education secretary in his cabinet.

“President-Elect Trump’s selection of Betsy DeVos to serve as education secretary continues to show that he is committed to building a pro-life administration,” said Darla St. Martin, Co-Executive Director of National Right to Life. “Betsy DeVos, and her husband Dick, have long been dedicated supporters of the right-to-life cause.

“National Right to Life congratulates Betsy DeVos on this recognition of her leadership in the field of education. ”

The National Right to Life organization welcomes and praises the selection of Betsy DeVos as the Education Secretary of the United States. DeVos’s appointment represents a significant step towards advancing the cause of educational reform and promoting policies that prioritize the well-being and success of America’s students.

As a longstanding advocate for educational choice and reform, Betsy DeVos brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to improving the quality and accessibility of education for all children. Her dedication to empowering parents with greater control over their children’s education aligns closely with the values espoused by the National Right to Life organization, which advocates for the rights of parents to make informed decisions regarding their children’s upbringing and education.

One of the key principles underlying DeVos’s approach to education is the promotion of school choice initiatives, such as charter schools, voucher programs, and tuition tax credits. These policies aim to expand educational opportunities for students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing alternatives to traditional public schools and fostering competition and innovation within the education system.

Furthermore, Betsy DeVos’s advocacy for parental rights and educational freedom resonates strongly with the pro-life movement’s commitment to protecting the rights of families and promoting a culture that values life at all stages. By championing policies that empower parents to choose the educational environment that best meets their children’s needs, DeVos exemplifies a dedication to promoting the dignity and potential of every individual, from conception to natural death.

In addition to her advocacy for school choice, Betsy DeVos has demonstrated a keen understanding of the importance of promoting values-based education and fostering a culture of respect for human life and dignity. Her support for initiatives that promote character development, moral education, and civics instruction reflects a recognition of the integral role that education plays in shaping the values and beliefs of future generations.

Overall, the National Right to Life organization commends the selection of Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary and looks forward to working collaboratively with her to advance policies that promote educational excellence, empower parents, and uphold the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all Americans. With her leadership and vision, we are confident that DeVos will play a vital role in shaping the future of education in America and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
