Problem with the pro-abortion rhetoric—it simply does not match reality

This week saw an intriguing occurrence when the Governor of Pennsylvania made a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The author’s post comprised a mere three words: The argument put forth is that abortion is healthcare.

In a moment of idle curiosity, I decided to peruse the comments beneath Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro’s post. In the three minutes following the publication of this post, Governor Shapiro had received seven comments, all of which were critical in nature.

All of the commentators highlighted the life-ending nature of abortion.

The rhetoric espoused by those who advocate for abortion rights is at odds with the reality of the situation. If one has observed an ultrasound, it is evident that the unborn child is indeed alive. The act of abortion is tantamount to the violent termination of the life of the unborn child.

It is evident that pregnant women may encounter health-related difficulties, which necessitate a response that is both life-affirming and compassionate. However, the deliberate termination of an unborn child’s life is not a healthy outcome.

The number of times the Governor of Pennsylvania posts “Abortion is healthcare” is of no consequence. Those with the capacity to perceive and the inclination to comprehend are aware that abortion is lethal for the unborn child and can have profoundly deleterious consequences for the mother, who is left to mourn the loss of that irreplaceable life.

It is my hope and prayer that the Governor of Pennsylvania will one day reveal the truth about abortion. I believe that this truth is that abortion is a tragedy that takes one life and wounds another’s soul.
