Published on

Those who have had the opportunity to peruse their email inboxes may have encountered the January issue of NRL News. The 41-page edition was dispatched this morning. I hope you will take the time to read it in its entirety. The issue is of a high standard.

The article commences with an exhaustive examination of the events that transpired in 2023 and an analysis of the prospective developments that may be anticipated from Congress in 2024. A review of the events of 2023: The forthcoming article, entitled “Federal Government and Abortion,” will provide an overview of the challenges we face in a presidential year.

Laura Echevarria assumes two roles. She serves as the Director of Communications and Press Secretary for the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC). The past week has been a period of significant personal challenges for her. The title of her post provides an insight into the personal challenges she has faced and the lessons to be drawn from them. “My husband and my father were both admitted to the hospital for different life-threatening medical conditions.” The contrast in the care they received is a reflection of the differing attitudes towards ability and age. This is an essential text for anyone interested in the subject.

As is her custom, NRL President Carol Tobias provides both educational and inspirational insights. In her latest missive, Ms. Tobias notes that the calendar year has changed, but that her organization’s efforts to save preborn babies and help their mothers will continue unabated, just as they have for many years.

As we have done for the past 11 months, the January issue documented the latest anti-life onslaught from pro-abortion President Joe Biden. The President is featured in articles on pages 2, 6-7, 27, and 31-33.

With an approval rating that ranges from the mid-30s to the very low 40s, it is inevitable that his attacks on former President Trump, which have already descended to a new low, will continue to spiral downward.

For instance, the Philadelphia Inquirer posits that Biden is attempting to persuade voters to support him by instilling a sense of fear regarding a potential second term under former President Donald Trump. CNN, a news organization with a long-standing antipathy towards the Trump administration, reports that Biden has made an impassioned argument that Trump could destroy American democracy as he opens his 2024 campaign. In a similar vein, CBS News reports that Biden is seeking to gain the support of Black voters in South Carolina by denouncing white supremacy.

This issue contains numerous accounts of the work of Pregnancy Help Centers (PHCs), which are often depicted as benevolent organizations that extend assistance to women and girls facing challenging pregnancies. Further information on PHCs can be found on pages 2, 12-13, and 25. On page 5, Maria Gallagher presents a compelling account of how a maternity home provides an oasis of care for pregnant women in challenging circumstances.

There are numerous other narratives, including those pertaining to Planned Parenthood and their pro-death counterparts, assisted suicide, and the misapplication of scientific principles. The subject will be further explored in subsequent days.

I hope you will find this issue to your liking. I am aware that I was responsible for the assembly of the publication.
