Why we will ultimately prevail: The Pro-Life side stands on a mountain of truth

Those who advocate for the protection of innocent human life must be prepared to defend their position at any time and in any location.

This adage was brought home to me this week when a man began shouting questions at me from his vehicle. He had deduced my place of employment and proceeded to interrogate me about the number of babies we assist, the number of adoptions we facilitate, and our efforts on behalf of children in Texas. (As I reside in Pennsylvania, this inquiry was somewhat incongruous, yet I am aware of the commendable efforts being made in the Lone Star state on behalf of pregnant women and their children. Consequently, I was able to respond to the query).

I eventually inquired as to whether he had been personally affected by the practice of abortion. This prompted a momentary pause. He then provided an answer that was seemingly unrelated to the question, stating that he had been hurt by a woman’s refusal to have an abortion. This is the extent to which we have regressed as a society: a man openly calling for the taking of life.

He persisted in vociferating as he exited the parking lot, beyond the range of auditory perception.

It is reasonable to posit that the perpetrator is suffering from a profound emotional injury and was attempting to lash out against what he perceived to be an easily identifiable target. However, having received training in pro-life apologetics, I was able to respond to each of these objections to our life-saving, life-changing work.

I prayed for the man, hoping that his heart would be healed and that he would embrace the cause of life. It is important to note that even Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a prominent figure in the field of abortion, had previously performed tens of thousands of abortions before becoming an outspoken advocate for the pro-life movement.

The fundamental point is that the pro-life position is based on a foundation of irrefutable truth. It is evident that no amount of pro-abortion rhetoric can effectively challenge the fundamental truth of the pro-life position. Ultimately, the triumph of truth and justice will be evident when our society recognizes the superiority of a culture of life over a culture of death.
