Wouldn’t you think that any self-respecting news operation would be outraged by a president’s administration telling it to get tougher on its political opponents?
Trick question: we said “self-respecting!” We’re talking here about a “news organization” abjectly in the bag for the Democrats.
In an article by senior media reporter Oliver Darcy [seen in the screencap, and delightfully described by our Kevin Tober as a “liberal media janitor and former Brian Stelter stooge”], CNN broke the news that the Biden administration is planning to send a letter to top US news executives “urging them to intensify their scrutiny of House Republicans after Speaker Kevin McCarthy launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, despite having found no evidence of a crime.”
CNN reports that, in a draft copy of the letter that CNN has seen, Biden spokesman Ian Sams writes [emphasis added throughout]:
“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies.”
And in a line of dark Orwellian undertones, the draft letter continues:
“Process stories that fail to unpack the illegitimacy of the claims on which House Republicans are basing all their actions only serve to generate confusion, put false premises in people’s feeds, and obscure the truth.”
If CNN weren’t in thrall to the Democrats, you might expect them to tell the Biden administration to stuff its letter where the celestial orb doesn’t cast its rays. But to the contrary, in his article on the letter, Darcy sympathizes with the Biden White House’s take!
Writes Darcy:
“While news organizations have published innumerable fact checks on the matter, they have also often failed to robustly call out the mis-and disinformation peddled by Republicans in their coverage, frustrating officials in the Biden White House who believe that the news media should be doing more to dispel lies that saturate the public discourse.”
Aww, those poor Biden White House folks, frustrated by the media not being tough enough on Republicans! CNN feels your pain!
As if the MSM hasn’t already been serving up a constant stream of condemnation of Republicans in general, and Trump in particular, as an “existential threat” to the continued existence of democracy in America! As if they haven’t routinely and bizarrely dismissed Biden scandals as pushed with “no evidence.” Even the AP story on the impeachment inquiry yesterday used that wildly inaccurate spin:
This article is a disgraceful demonstration of the total mindmeld of the Democrat-MSM news complex.
