It was one of those hashtags that will forever be etched in my memory.
As I perused my Twitter feed, I observed that the abortion industry had disseminated the hashtag #AbortionAlwaysWins.
In the tradition of the “Shout Your Abortion” campaign, this hashtag’s boast, in my estimation, conceals a profound amount of pain.
This represents a further attempt to justify an act that is inherently irrational. Abortion is the termination of an innocent, irreplaceable human life in the uterus of a pregnant woman. This is not an act of justice, independence, or empowerment. It represents the pinnacle of bullying and exploitation. It is evident that the act is violent and that it results in the termination of a beating heart, as well as causing lifelong psychological distress to the grieving mother.
The hashtag #AbortionAlwaysWins is yet another falsehood propagated by an industry that profits from the exploitation of trauma and pain. The list of falsehoods perpetuated by the abortion industry is extensive. These include the assertion that abortion is no different than a tooth extraction, that the unborn child is merely a blob of tissue, and that abortion is healthcare.
The loss of a child is a profoundly traumatic experience. Indeed, numerous mothers have expressed regret at having undergone an abortion. The emotional distress experienced by these women is profound and tangible.
The abortion industry is attempting to dishearten pro-life advocates with slogans such as “Abortion Always Wins.” The reality is that, in the case of abortion, no one emerges as a clear winner. In this context, it is evident that all parties involved ultimately suffer a loss. A child dies, a parent experiences despair, and a grandmother is deprived of her progeny. The community and the country at large are deprived of the potential and promise of a human being of unlimited possibilities.
Consequently, those who espouse the pro-life position persevere with unwavering conviction. We are aware that the truth is on our side, and that ultimately, life will prevail.
