Va. Pro-Life Action Alert: Tell Governor Northam Abortions are not Essential Health Care!

Published on

While we all attempt to adapt to new rules to keep our loved ones safe from Coronavirus, COVID-19, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam still thinks it makes sense to allow abortion facilities in the Commonwealth to continue to kill babies!

On Wednesday, March 25th, the Governor issued another Public Health Emergency Order which directs “all hospitals to stop performing elective surgeries or procedure.” However, the press release clarifies that the Order does not apply to “the full suite of family planning services and procedures.”  That means abortions are explicitly not included in the stop order.

Abortion facilities are using up valuable PPE (personal protective equipment) every time an abortion is performed! Virginia’s doctors and nurses and other hospital staff need every one of these things if we are going to be prepared for possible outbreaks of more cases of Covid-19.

Gov. Northam needs to be called to task for allowing abortion facilities to remain in operation at this time. Elective abortions are not essential health care at any time, certainly not now!

Planned Parenthood donated $3,000,000 dollars to his election campaign in 2017. Now is not the time for him to pay that debt back!

Tell Governor Northam you are shocked that he would allow valuable resources for the safety of every Virginian to continue to be used by abortion profiteers still doing their deadly business.

In the ongoing battle for the sanctity of life, the state of Virginia finds itself at a critical juncture. As the discourse surrounding essential healthcare services continues, it’s imperative to address the misclassification of abortions as essential procedures. Pro-life advocates across Virginia are rallying together to urge Governor Northam to acknowledge the truth: Abortions are not essential healthcare!

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a concerning trend of deeming elective abortions as essential medical procedures, thus allowing them to continue unabated while other non-urgent medical services were postponed or restricted. This misguided classification not only undermines the value of human life but also puts the health and safety of women at risk.

Pro-life organizations in Virginia, including concerned citizens and advocacy groups, are mobilizing to challenge this misconception. They assert that abortions, by their nature, are elective procedures that do not address life-threatening conditions or immediate health risks. Therefore, they should not be prioritized over other medical services that are truly essential for preserving life and promoting health.

Furthermore, pro-life advocates argue that the promotion of abortion as essential healthcare perpetuates a culture of disregard for the dignity and value of human life. By normalizing and prioritizing the termination of pregnancies, society risks desensitizing itself to the inherent worth of every individual, regardless of their stage of development or circumstances of conception.

The call to action directed at Governor Northam is clear: It is time to rectify the misclassification of abortions and ensure that healthcare policies reflect a genuine commitment to protecting and promoting life. Pro-life advocates are urging the governor to reconsider the designation of abortions as essential procedures and to prioritize resources and support for women facing unplanned pregnancies.

Moreover, they emphasize the importance of providing compassionate alternatives to abortion, such as adoption services, counseling, and material assistance for expectant mothers in need. By offering holistic support and empowering women to choose life-affirming options, society can uphold both the dignity of women and the sanctity of every human life.

In conclusion, the pro-life action alert in Virginia serves as a clarion call for Governor Northam and policymakers to recognize the truth: Abortions are not essential healthcare. By heeding the voices of pro-life advocates and prioritizing policies that protect and promote life, Virginia can reaffirm its commitment to upholding the dignity and value of every individual, from conception to natural death. It’s time to stand up for life and ensure that abortion is not treated as essential healthcare in the Commonwealth of Virginia!
