Local prolife groups from across Michigan participated in special events to commemorate the 40th memorial of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. Prolife people marched through Michigan communities; some gathered for special services or at local court houses; others prayed at churches and at cemeteries; while some lit candles mourning the lives of more than 55 million unborn babies lost to the “right” of abortion.
Right to Life of Michigan Director of Public Information Pam Sherstad said, “We take our responsibility in Michigan seriously to guard the dignity of all human life. Local groups from across the state displayed a public witness to the sanctity of human life. No woman wants abortion. Right to Life of Michigan and our local groups want every mother facing an untimely pregnancy to know real life choices are available.”
In addition to the community activities throughout Michigan, Right to Life of Michigan will be well represented in Washington, D.C., for the March for Life. People from Michigan will be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those from other states to peacefully protest abortion in the largest civil protest of the world. Several bus trips have been planned bringing hundreds of Michiganders, who are passionate about life, to the nation’s Capital.
