Right to Life groups back Kevin Cramer for U.S. Senate over Heidi Heitkamp

WASHINGTON – The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) and its state affiliate, North Dakota Right to Life, have endorsed Kevin Cramer, a pro-life candidate, in the upcoming U.S. Senate election in North Dakota. Cramer will challenge pro-abortion incumbent Senator Heidi Heitkamp in November.

In a statement, Carol Tobias, president of the NRLC, said, “National Right to Life and North Dakota Right to Life are pleased to endorse Kevin Cramer, whose position on life reflects the true values of North Dakota’s voters.” There is a clear distinction between Kevin Cramer, who advocates for legal protection for unborn children, and Heidi Heitkamp, who supports abortion for any reason until birth.

Kevin Cramer (R) co-sponsored and voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which is legislation designed to protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.

Cramer is challenging Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D), who consistently votes against the pro-life position on abortion. Heidi Heitkamp voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. She supports the allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars of government funds to the nation’s largest abortion provider.

In contrast, Rep. Kevin Cramer’s pro-life record is characterised by a clear opposition to abortion on demand and the use of tax dollars to pay for abortion.
