In a surprising announcement, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has declared his intention to allow Pennsylvania’s contract with Real Alternatives to expire at the end of the year.
Real Alternatives oversees Pennsylvania’s Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services program, which provides funding for pregnancy resource centers, maternity homes, and adoption agencies across the state. Without this program, thousands of pregnant women in Pennsylvania could lose access to the comprehensive support and counseling they require during their pregnancies and for 12 months after.
It is imperative that we take action to reverse Governor Shapiro’s decision to cancel Real Alternatives’ contract. To do so, we must contact Governor Shapiro’s office and urge him to reconsider.
