It’s important for us to share our adoption stories, to spread the love we feel for our adopted relatives and friends.

I approach National Adoption Month with a sense of anticipation and optimism. Both sides of my family tree have been fortunate to experience the joy of adoption. My life has been enriched by the presence of these individuals in my life.

In fact, I cannot imagine life without them. They were an integral part of my childhood, and I cannot think of them without smiling. I express my condolences for the loss of this unique individual, while striving to honor his legacy in the most respectful manner.

It is unfortunate that, in our contemporary society, there is a prevalence of misperceptions and misunderstandings surrounding adoption. It can be a transformative experience for both the biological parents and the adoptive parents, and it can be the optimal choice for a child.

It is crucial for us to disseminate our adoption narratives, to disseminate the affection we feel for our adopted relatives and friends. There is a significant number of people who are unaware of the numerous adoption success stories that are currently in existence.

Let us therefore celebrate adoption and the families it forms. While some families are formed through biological kinship, others are created through emotional commitment. They deserve our respect and our praise.
