Fireworks, Family, and the Reversal of Roe!!

By Olivia Gans Turner, President, Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL)

As another Independence Day arrived, all across the USA pro-life people celebrated lives saved after last year’s Supreme Court reversal of Roe v. Wade. Statistics suggest that in states with new protective laws thousands of babies have been born who might otherwise been killed by abortions.

The Right to Life is the bedrock principle of every other right that we celebrate this week. Protecting that right is why VSHL exists. We work  together with you to bring about the changes in our society that will respect and protect every innocent human life under law.  This is the ultimate human rights issue and together we will defend that right in the face of every challenge.

Virginia may not be able to point to new laws that help protect and save more lives yet, but we will never give up until we can.  This election year we have a perfect opportunity to do what citizens do best:  vote for women and men who hold the same values we do. We can and must vote pro-life. This issue must be the paramount issue that brings us to the polls. We can make history again in Virginia, the home of so many founding fathers.

Last night, as we watched the skies around the Commonwealth light up, let us make sure we get ready to change the direction Virginia has been going.  If we use this moment well, next Fourth of July we too can celebrate more babies’ lives saved and mothers protected.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness for all!

Thank you for all you do.
