COLUMBIA, S.C. — Following a major pro-life phone call campaign this week to Republican members of the South Carolina Senate to move forward on the Human Life Protection Act, Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey, R-Edgefield, said Wednesday that the Senate will debate the Human Life Protection Act (H3774) next week.

Please thank your Republican Senator for moving forward to pass this vitally important pro-life law.

With three weeks left in the 2023 legislative session, the Republican controlled Senate has the time to pass the Human Life Protection Act (H3774) and stop the abortion bloodbath that is occurring in South Carolina because the legislatures of George and Florida have passed strong life-protecting laws.

This is driving abortion traffic into South Carolina where more than 200 unborn babies every week are dying in the state’s free-standing abortion facilities.

The Human Life Protection Act passed the S.C. House on February 15, 2023, by an overwhelming vote of 83-31. The legislation protects the lives of most unborn members of the human family from the time of a diagnosable pregnancy.

Of the 46 Senators, 30 were elected as Republicans which should mean passing the Human Life Protection Act is not a problem. The Republican Platform of South Carolina is strongly pro-life. The Senate Republicans have an opportunity to show great courage for the unborn and will need your continued encouragement.
