Another poll “shows nearly 60% of #Americans support a proposed 15-week federal abortion restriction”

The Trafalgar Group has consistently been more accurate in its polling, a reputation that was enhanced greatly because they predicted Donald Trump would be elected President in 2016 against the overwhelming consensus that Hillary Clinton would win. Robert Cahaly is the Trafalgar Group’s Senior Strategist and Pollster and the public face of the Atlanta-based company.

The company put this tweet out on September 17, which I belated saw today:

#FederalAbortionLaw shows nearly 60% of #Americans support a proposed 15-week federal abortion restriction vs federal guarantee of unrestricted abortion access

Specifically, they asked their respondents “Which of the 2 abortion -related bills that have been introduced in Congress most aligns with your beliefs?”

A federal law that eliminates abortions for later stage pregnancies (beyond 15 weeks)–allowing exceptions for rape, incest or mother’s health; but would not prevent further individual state restrictions.

A federal law that says women have the right to abortion at any time during pregnancy and would prevent individual state limitations.

The first tracks the re-introduced “Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act.”

The second tracks the wildly mislabeled “Women’s Health Protection Act.”

The results? 59% chose the first option to just 41% who opted for the second.

The outcome is in line with pro-life results from Ohio and Texas
