With his trademark humor and charm, radio talk show host Ken Matthews lit up the night at the Celebrate Life banquet benefitting the life-saving, life-changing work of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation.
Matthews noted that pro-lifers “changed the direction of the nation” with the election of pro-life President Donald J. Trump in 2016. “Along comes President Donald Trump who has reenergized the pro-life movement,” Matthews said. “I was on the Trump train before it left the station in 2015.”
Matthews, who fills in for nationally-syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh on a regular basis, told the tragic story of his wife’s multiple miscarriages. He said he became an expert at reading ultrasounds in the wake of his family’s experiences. Matthews and his wife have two boys, ages 16 and 19. “Most Americans love and respect life,” Matthews said.
The Celebrate Life Banquet in Harrisburg also marked the presentation of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Leadership Award. This year’s recipient was President Trump, who has amassed what has been described as the most pro-life record in Presidential history. A White House aide spoke to the assembled guests via phone, thanking them for their strong commitment to protecting innocent human life.
The banquet followed safety protocols, with temperature checks, masking, and an outdoor venue. But the restrictions did not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd, who had come to show their solidarity for the pro-life cause in Pennsylvania.
As Matthews eloquently noted, “God is the master designer…you are doing God’s work,”
