Editor’s note. We’ve posted one story and reposted another about the preliminary hearing which began Tuesday in San Francisco to decide whether the 15 felony charges of invasion of privacy against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt will go to trial.
Daleiden, founder and project lead of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), caused a national uproar with his series of undercover videos of Planned Parenthood Big Shots and others joking about extracting and selling the body parts of aborted babies.
Tuesday was the first time the video footage has been seen publicly, according to Peter Breen, of the Thomas More Society legal team defending Daleiden and co-worker Susan Sandra Merritt. The undercover videos are under a federal injunction ban, Breen said.
The following was one of many multiples of stories we wrote during the time Mr. Daleiden was releasing the videos, one by one. They are important because they reveal the cavalier, dehumanizing way various high-ranking Planned Parenthood officials talked about their victims. It first ran October 20, 2015, in a slightly different form.
The content all but shouted, “This made me sick to my stomach.” When I realized the topic was a Washington Post profile of David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, I could easily understand why the stomachs of representatives of the Abortion Industry were running in circles.
The complaints, in sum, were that Sandhya Somashekhar’s story “glamorize his work” or, worse, was “sensationalism [that] belongs in a gossip magazine, rather than a legitimate news outlet such as The Post.”
Of course, this was nonsense. The story didn’t praise him or support what the videos showed. The reporter simply told his story.
But NARAL Pro-Choice America was annoyed. Amidst the flood of critical stories about Daleiden, The Washington Post wrote one about the founder of the Center for Medical Progress which did not adhere, syllable by syllable, to the Abortion Establishment ’s approved script!
But if you can’t count on the Washington Post to advance the pro-abortion narrative, who can you trust?
For everyone not on the payroll of the Abortion Establishment, or carrying water for them, the real nausea would be to watch what the Big Shots at Planned Parenthood would candidly say.
How about Dr. Carolyn Westoff, Planned Parenthood’s Senior Medical Advisor, who exclaimed
“We’ve just been working with people who want particular tissues, like, you know, they want cardiac, or they want eyes, or they want neural. …Oh, gonads! Oh, my God, gonads.”
And in case anyone should ask
“Everything we provide is fresh.”
And there’s Dr. Mary Gatter, president of the Medical Directors Council of PPFA, who casually discussed the possibility of using a “less crunchy [abortion] technique” to preserve intact baby organs.
And who can forget Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director for medical services for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, talking about “crushing” where
“you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact”
and
“with the calvarium [the skull], in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it’s not vertex [head first], because when it’s vertex presentation you never have enough dilation at the beginning of the case, unless you have real, huge amounts of dilation to deliver an intact calvarium.”
And if that weren’t, we have abortionist Willie Parker and his comments in a Cosmopolitan magazine story. Speaking of Dr. Nucatola, Parker said
“I’m thinking about a strong parallel between what’s happening to my colleague and the trial week of Jesus before he was crucified.”
And that’s just for starters. We’re already sick to our stomachs before we hear lab techs laughing and joshing as they manipulate whole baby body parts, or listen to Gatter as she jokes, “I want a Lamborghini.”
NARAL’s Sasha Bruce has asked supporters for money so they can “help defend abortion rights and hold the media accountable for these false attacks on Planned Parenthood.”
Pro-abortionists pretending to need to “Hold the media accountable.” If that weren’t so preposterous, it would be almost funny.
