ABC, NBC Upset Louisiana Democrats Helping to Enact Pro-Life Law

By Nicholas Fondacaro

There were apparently still a few Democrats that refused to promote the barbaric act of abortion. During their Monday evening newscasts, ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News seemed irritated that Democrats in the state of Louisiana were set to enact their own heartbeat law, effectively keeping up momentum for the pro-life legislation sweeping the country.

“The fight over Roe v. Wade is quickly reaching a boiling point. State after state passing new restrictive laws,” lamented NBC correspondent Stephanie Gosk. “Next up, is Louisiana on the cusp of banning abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy … The sponsor of the bill in this very religious and conservative state, a Democrat.”

In an interview with Democratic State Senator John Milkovich, the bill’s sponsor, Gosk argued in favor of killing a child conceived from rape with no consideration for the value of that life:

MILKOVICH: Our view is that the correct moral response to sexual assault is not to execute the unborn baby who has done no wrong.

GOSK: Doesn’t this run the risk of traumatizing a rape victim twice?

MILKOVICH: You know, we have got an obligation, I believe, to speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

“The Governor, another Democrat, says he’s ready to sign it,” she then whined.

Gosk spoke with a woman who “runs an advocacy group for women’s health” who argued for why she believes the state needed abortion laws kept as is: “The maternal mortality rate in Louisiana is extremely high. Women don’t have access to adequate healthcare.” That should be the argument for improving healthcare in the state, not the argument to kill babies.

The NBC report was capped off with a promotion for a national pro-abortion protest.

Meanwhile, on ABC, congressional correspondent Mary Bruce was complaining about how “the Democratic governor [of Louisiana] stands ready to buck his party and sign a bill that would make abortions illegal once a heartbeat is detected, before many women know they’re pregnant.”

Soundbites of abortion activists were sprinkled throughout Bruce’s report. At one point, a group of protesters were shown chanting, “People die when politicians lie!” This, while they’re protesting for the “right” to kill babies.

Bruce seemed encouraged by how “court challenges are already in the works,” but unamused with Vice President Mike Pence, who said he’s happy “many states around the country are embracing life.”

The CBS Evening News ignored the role that Democrats were playing in Louisiana and called the wave of pro-life legislation a “Republican-led effort.” What happened to promoting and celebrating bipartisanship?
