Tell the U.S. Senate: Vote YES on the Born-Alive Bill

By Dave Andrusko

If we didn’t already have enough incentive to call our U.S. senators about voting in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, what took place in New York and is taking place in Arizona should remind us that Democrats have now moved pass supporting abortion through all 40 weeks of pregnancy to removing existing protections for children who survive abortion.

It is almost beyond belief, but it is, tragically, 100% true.

First, what does the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 311), sponsored by Senator Ben Sasse (R-Ne.), accomplish? It would enact an explicit requirement that a baby born alive during an abortion must be afforded “the same “the same degree” of care that would apply “to any other child born alive at the same gestational age,” including transportation to a hospital.

National Right to Life strongly supports the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Pro-life Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the bill will come to the floor of the Senate on February 25. NRLC urges you to call your senators to urge them to support this legislation.

As NRL News Today readers know, once pro-abortionists assumed control of the state Senate, New York quickly passed the “Reproductive Health Act.” RHA is horrific on any number of counts, including allowing abortion throughout pregnancy and establishing abortion as a “fundamental right.”

But the RHA also repealed the requirement in New York law for a second physician to be on hand to care for a child 20 weeks or older, should he or she be born alive during the course of an abortion.

Pro-abortionists in Arizona have introduced legislation in the state House to pass protective legislation that goes back to 1975!

It is essential that you call Your U.S. Senators Today!
