Vote pro-life: Kevin Cramer in North Dakota, Heidi Heitkamp voted to allow late abortion after 20 weeks.

By Karen Cross, National Right to Life Political Director

Pro-life Congressman Kevin Cramer (R) is challenging radical incumbent pro-abortion Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D) in one of the best pro-life pickup opportunities for Senate races in 2018.

Kevin Cramer is pro-life. He opposes abortion on demand, and supports protection for unborn children. Kevin Cramer voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks, when the unborn child can feel pain. Kevin Cramer voted against taxpayer funding for abortion, and he voted against taxpayer funding of abortion providers.

In contrast, Heidi Heitkamp supports a policy of abortion on demand, which allows abortion for any reason. Heidi Heitkamp voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 2311), and in favor of continuing late abortions after 20 weeks, when the unborn child can feel pain. Heidi Heitkamp also voted for taxpayer funding of abortion providers.

Kevin Cramer will vote to confirm qualified judicial nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court. Heidi Heitkamp voted against confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Early voting has begun in North Dakota.
