By Olivia Gans Turner, President, Virginia Society for Human Life
Things never slow down in Virginia for those of us committed to protecting innocent human life. Let me tell you about three important developments we need your help with.
The pro-life movie about abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s “house of horrors” has opened across the USA.
Even though “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” made the top ten list its opening weekend, hundreds of theatres have stopped showing it. However if you go to gosnellmovie.com/theaters, you find out where the film is still showing. It is a powerful story that needs to be shared.
Here is a link to the review I wrote for NRL News Today: “Gosnell takes a horrible story and tells it in a riveting fashion.”
Here is your chance to try and help prevent more gruesome stories like the Gosnell story from happening in Virginia.
The Board of Health, with the support of our pro-abortion governor, continues to dismantle the provisions passed by the General Assembly six years ago. Currently there is a period of public comment regarding these regulations which closes on October 31.You can go to this link to leave your comment.
Please advise the Board of Health that you don’t believe that women getting abortions are made safe when abortionists are allowed to cherry-pick what rules they will or won’t follow in their facilities.
Abortion is always a deadly business that kills an unborn child and puts mothers at great risk when abortionists are protected without limits.
VSHL looks forward to the time when strong pro-life laws can once again become law in Virginia and prevent abortions and stop reckless abortionists from operating with the blessing of our highest elected officials.
Please leave your comments here by October 31st.
Less than two weeks before Election Day!
Mid-term elections have never been as critical as they appear to be this year. The balance of power between pro-life or pro-abortion control of the US Congress is at stake. Your votes absolutely do matter!
Here is the list of endorsements from Virginia Society for Human Life PAC:
District 1: Rob Wittman (incumbent)
District 2: Scott Taylor (incumbent)
District 4: Ryan McAdams (challenger)
District 5: Denver Riggleman (open seat)
District 6: Ben Cline (open seat)
District 7: Dave Brat (incumbent)
District 9: Morgan Griffith (incumbent)
District 10: Barbara Comstock (incumbent)
District 11: Jeff Dove (challenger)
There is also a very important race for one open seat in the Virginia state House of Delegates. The seat is in the 8th district– the Salem and Roanoke areas.
After the nail-biter vote last year, pro-lifers’ control the House of Delegates is down to only one seat.
The control of the House of Delegates hangs on this one seat. If we lose that control, all of Virginia’s pro-life laws will face reversal in the General Assembly.
VSHL PAC has endorsed Joe McNamara in that race.
