The Pro-Life, Pro-Truth Movement

By Maria Gallagher, Legislative Director, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

I recently heard a panelist on a news program say there was a need to be “pro-truth.”

I immediately thought of the pro-life movement, and how it has also served as a pro-truth movement for decades.

We are pro-truth because we recognize the scientific fact that life begins at conception.

We are pro-truth because we peacefully campaign for legal recognition and Constitutional protection for preborn children.

We are pro-truth because we cite the alarming statistic that nearly a million precious preborn children die from abortion each year.

We are pro-truth because we note that, in order to make an informed decision about abortion, women need to know the development of the preborn child, the risks of abortion, and positive alternatives to abortion.

We are pro-truth because we recognize the sacredness of the bond between mother and child.

We are pro-truth because we see the second victim of abortion is the mother, who is left to grieve a child tragically lost.

We are pro-truth because we educate people about how men suffer from lost fatherhood as a result of abortion.

And we are pro-truth because we recognize that Roe v. Wade, the U. S. Supreme Court ruling which legalized abortion, is a tragedy of epic proportions. It will eventually collapse under the weight of its own massive deception.
