I made myself a promise that I would not tackle every outlandish line of attack against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Everyone knew they would come hot and heavy. If I had any doubts how desperate the assaults would be, an absurd blow-it-out-of-proportions assault leveled by the Washington Post today convinced me otherwise.
Judge Kavanaugh’s “crime”? Buying season baseball tickets for his friends who subsequently paid him back. The Post decided he had incurred too much debt in so doing, even “though payments for the tickets were made at the end of 2016 and paid off early the next year,” according to the same Washington Post article. By the way Judge Kavanaugh’s reportable assets are a fraction of his would-be Supreme Court colleagues.
Of more substance, since it is representative of what will be a full-throated pro-abortion assault, is that “Planned Parenthood is launching a nationwide digital ad buy aimed at pressuring senators to oppose Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court,” according to Melissa Quinn of the Washington Examiner. “The ads will run in all 50 states through July and focus specifically on the future of reproductive rights.”
Quinn adds, “A narrator tells viewers to urge their senators to oppose Kavanaugh and ‘protect our constitutional right to abortion.’”
In a statement, Planned Parenthood Action Fund Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens said, “We know we can defeat Kavanaugh’s nomination — already activists are organizing rallies and flooding Senate offices with calls. It’s time for us to join together.”
She claimed, “Together our voices are too loud for the Senate — or even the president — to ignore.”
National Right to Life has only a fraction of the resources available to the Abortion Lobby. NRLC President Carol Tobias is asking pro-lifers for “a sacrificial emergency contribution of $500 or $250. Even $100 or $50 would help us to counter the pro-abortion smear campaign against Judge Kavanaugh.
To carry out the plans, Mrs. Tobias wrote, “We need to quickly secure $500,000 now and another $500,000 in the coming weeks.”
If you possibly can, please contribute as soon as possible.
