40 days and counting until NRLC 2018

By Dave Andrusko

40 days…before you know it’ll be June 28, the opening of the three-day National Right to Life convention which takes place at the Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas. I’ve attached a wonderful little video that will inspire you under the catchy hashtag #seeyouinkc2018. (For information about the June 28-29-30 convention and how to register, please go to nrlconvention.com.)

2018 is the 50th anniversary of National Right to Life, the nation’s preeminent single-issue pro-life organization. A half-century devoted to working with our wonderful grassroots pro-lifer volunteers to save unborn babies, babies born with disabilities, and the medically vulnerable who are so susceptible to “physician-assisted suicide.”

The roster of speakers, as always, is first-rate and growing.

Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City is our Friday morning Prayer Speaker. The Catholic Bishops elected Archbishop Naumann chairman of the conference’s vitally important committee on pro-life activities. He succeeds another pro-life champion, Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, and takes over formally in November.

We will also be honored to hear from Dr. George Delgado, Medical Director of Abortion Pill Reversal, bioethicist Wesley J. Smith, abortion survivor Melissa Ohden, and Sarah Zagorski. Special projects director for Louisiana Right to Life, Sarah was rescued from abortion and often shares her story of survival, hope, and healing.

NRLC convention director Jacki Ragan reminds us of how we can “Learn from the best, mingle with like-minded people, hear and meet amazing speakers, and leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to go home, get to work and save lives!”

Mary Kay Culp, executive director of Kansans for Life, explains to attendees what they can expect from this three-day educational bonanza.

“For starters, the convention brings together in one place national experts on every phase of the life issues in order to equip grassroots pro-lifers not only with the knowledge and skills they need to advance our cause, but provide enthusiasm and motivation,” Culp says.

You can register for all three days for one low price: $50 for teens, $65 for college students, and $120 for adults. Plus, one-day registrations are also available!

The convention features 5 general sessions and 60+ workshops to choose from, plus for an extra charge, a Prayer Breakfast on Friday morning, and a Closing Banquet Saturday night.

The late Dr. Jean Garton, author of the pro-life classic, “Who Broke the Baby,” once said at a general session, “The three days of the National Right to Life Convention represents the annual gathering of America’s pro-life ‘family’ and it is like coming home again.”
