Pa. Gov. Wolf vetoes abortion dismemberment bill

Published on

With that haughty pride that only the most self-assured pro-abortionist can muster, former Planned Parenthood escort Gov. Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania vetoed SB3 on Monday, a measure he hyperbolically described as “the anti-choice legislation that would severely limit women’s reproductive rights and health care options.”

What “severe” limitations would SB 3 impose? As they tee up a well-developed unborn child for execution, abortionists would no longer be free to employ sharp metal tools to tear a living unborn child apart, piece by piece, until she bleeds to death.

Naturally, in his veto message, Wolf, a Democrat, included flattering comments of local pro-abortion supporters and abortionists. For instance, to the health and well-being of women across Pennsylvania, La’Tasha D. Mayes, executive director, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, congratulated the governor for his “courageous veto of Senate Bill 3.”

In the statement posted on his web page, the governor in passing mentions the overwhelming support for SB3 in the House– 120-70. He managed to avoid mentioning the equally large margin in the Senate –32-18. Wolf blamed that on all those Republicans.

But what about the statewide poll taken in 2015 which “found that an overwhelming majority of Pennsylvanians—61 percent—support a dismemberment ban in the Keystone State,” according to Maria Gallagher, legislative director for the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation? “Both women (64 percent) and men (58 percent) back a dismemberment ban.”

Not a word from Gov. Wolf about the groundswell of support for SB 3.

Michael Ciccocioppo, the executive director of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, spoke for all pro-lifers when he said

This is a sad day for women and children in Pennsylvania. With his veto of Senate Bill 3, Governor Tom Wolf is allowing the inhumane practice of dismemberment abortion to continue in the Commonwealth. No living child should have to endure being ripped limb by limb from a mother’s womb, and no mother should have to endure the emotional pain of losing a child in such a brutal manner.

Governor Wolf’s distressing decision goes against the will of the vast majority of Pennsylvanians, who want to see cruel dismemberment abortions banned, once and for all.
