Three months, one day to go before NRL 2017 begins

By Dave Andrusko

If you go to the bottom of the NRLC Convention page, you’ll find a clock counting down the time until NRL 2017, the pro-life educational event of the year, begins.

In the beautiful words of the late Dr. Jean Garton, “It is the annual gathering of America’s pro-life family.”

When I wrote this post, the clock told us that it’s three months, one day, and 13 hours until June 29, the opening of this annual three-day event which brings together experts and grassroots activists from all over the world. Believe me, it will two months and one day before you know it.

I remind you of this because it is never too early to register. For exact details on how to register online, click here.

Naturally, I’m partisan because I come from the Midwest. But you’d be hard-pressed to find a better gathering place than the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee Hotel, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

National Right to Life always provides attendees with great speakers, whose knowledge is matched only by their capacity to motivate. To take two examples, Ben Shapiro will get the convention off to a rousing start at the 10 am opening General Session June 29.

NRL News Today readers know Mr. Shapiro from his massive output–everything from New York Times best sellers, to newspaper op-eds, to his literally hundreds of appearances on television including Here is just a: “The O’Reilly Factor” (Fox News), “Fox and Friends” (Fox News), “In the Money” (CNN Financial), “Scarborough Country” (MSNBC), “Your World with Neil Cavuto” (Fox News), and the nationally syndicated “Michael Medved Show.”

Thursday’s opening day will conclude with a general session featuring Ann McElhinney, the producer of “Gosnell the movie” and co-author, along with her husband, of the New York Times Best Seller “Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer.”

Gosnell is a story of a man who, for over 30 years, ran a medical clinic in an impoverished Philadelphia neighborhood. But behind the doors of his clinic, the smiling, avuncular Kermit Gosnell was also America’s most prolific serial killer.

In 2013 Gosnell was finally investigated and convicted of the murder of three newborn babies and the involuntary manslaughter of a woman who died during an abortion. But he likely killed hundreds if not thousands of live babies in his filthy “house of horrors,” in a 30-year killing spree.

He was allowed to kill by health officials and politicians who wanted to “protect abortion rights” and wouldn’t inspect his clinic, despite numerous complaints. McElhinney will talk about all of this and much more at the 8:00 general session.

Jacki Ragan, NRLC Convention Director, told NRL News Today, “Going all the way back to 1971, the NRL Convention has offered workshops and extraordinary general sessions featuring religious leaders, nationally-recognized journalists, and political leaders. This is the place to be this summer if you want to know how best to build a pro-life future for America!”

“You do not want to miss this opening day. Mr. Shapiro and Ms. McElhinney will offer timely and important messages on incredibly importance topics,” she added.

“Make sure you are at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee by 10 am on Thursday morning, June 29! We look forward to seeing you all there!”
