The nation’s largest abortion operation and a group that works to elect pro-abortion candidates are joining forces in a million-dollar ad campaign against respected pro-life Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey (R).
Planned Parenthood, which performs more abortions than any other organization in the U.S., and EMILY’s List, which campaigns for and heavily funds radical abortion advocates, began running their misleading attack ad June 23rd .
In the commercial, a woman who identifies herself as a breast cancer survivor says she is “outraged” that Toomey voted to defund Planned Parenthood, which she says thousands of Pennsylvania women depend on for cancer screenings.
At that point, an image appears on the screen which appears to depict a woman undergoing a mammogram.
Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms. I repeat, Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms.
As Planned Parenthood chief Cecile Richards admitted during a congressional hearing in 2015, “We do not have mammogram machines at our health centers and we’ve never stated that we did.”
Let’s do a little fact-checking at this point. If Planned Parenthood has no mammogram machines, why does one appear in an ad attacking a senator for his vote regarding Planned Parenthood funding?
Also, why did Richards tell talk show host Joy Behar in 2011, if a bill to defund Planned Parenthood became law, “millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access, not to abortion services, to basic family planning – you know, mammograms, cancer screenings, cervical cancer”?
Sadly, this is par for the course for Planned Parenthood, which depends on falsehoods for its livelihood. The abortion giant, which receives an astounding $500 million in taxpayer funding in a single year, refers to a living, thumb-sucking unborn child as a “choice,” calls a baby diagnosed with a disability a “defect,” and refers to the taking of an innocent human life as a “termination.”
Planned Parenthood is taking aim at the principled Pennsylvania senator because they want to replace him with someone who would serve as their mouthpiece in the Senate, Democrat Katie McGinty.
McGinty, a former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, was most recently chief of staff to Governor Tom Wolf. McGinty lauds and applauds the abortion behemoth on her campaign website.
By contrast, in his first term in the Senate, Toomey earned a 100% pro-life rating from the National Right to Life Committee.
He is a cosponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would protect unborn babies 20 weeks and older from painful late abortions. Among key scored votes are votes to limit funding for Planned Parenthood, block Obama abortion mandates, and repeal and block funding for Obamacare
If there’s anyone playing politics with women’s health this election year, it’s Planned Parenthood.
