This is a huge step forward for the unborn! The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, recently passed by a wide margin in the U.S. House, will be introduced in the U.S. Senate next week!
That’s significant, because when the bill passed the House back in 2013, the Senate was run by pro-abortion Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), which meant any pro-life bill was dead on arrival in the Senate.
But this year is different! With the Senate run by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), this pro-life bill can really reach the floor of the Senate.
But opponents will throw up every obstacle at their command!
The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which National Right to Life has helped pass in 11 states, prohibits elective abortions at 20 weeks fetal age, by which point the baby is capable of experiencing great pain during an abortion.
The nationwide debate on this bill is a tremendous opportunity to educate millions of Americans about the humanity of the unborn child and the pain they can feel in an abortion!
The bill is being introduced by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
Please help us build support for this bill by:
Eleven states have passed this common-sense law that protects unborn babies from painful late abortions. But babies throughout America, and not just in those states, deserve the same protection. Please contact your senators and contribute to support our efforts to enact this compassionate and needed bill!
