Reason #39 to Defeat Barack Obama: The Mexico City Policy

For several months, the National Right to Life Victory Fund has been running this series of 54 Reasons to Defeat Barack Obama, to commemorate the 54 million unborn children who’ve died from abortion since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that Obama supports.  As we begin the last three weeks of the campaign, we ask for your support so we can defeat Obama and give the unborn the chance they deserve . . . to live!

Reason #39 to Defeat Barack Obama:
The Mexico City Policy

One of the life-saving actions Mitt Romney will take immediately if he becomes president is to reinstate what is called the Mexico City Policy.

The Mexico City Policy was first enunciated by President Ronald Reagan.  It established that the U.S. government would not give U.S. taxpayer-funded family planning funds to private organizations that perform or advocate for abortion in countries overseas.  Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush also enforced the policy.

But pro-abortion presidents Clinton and Obama each eliminated the Mexico City Policy and began giving tens of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to groups that actively advocate for legal abortion in countries that don’t want to see their children threatened by abortion.

When President George W. Bush reinstated the Mexico City Policy upon taking office in 2001, the director-general of the International Planned Parenthood Federation estimated that the policy would cost them 25 percent of their budget.

Why on earth should American taxpayers be paying one-quarter of International Planned Parenthood’s budget?

The Center for Reproductive Law and Policy (now called the Center for Reproductive Rights) said at the time that the policy would significantly set back their work to expand abortion in Catholic countries in Latin America.

So they were admitting that U.S. taxpayer dollars were being used to undermine the laws and customs of pro-life societies!

Mitt Romney has promised to stop this injustice just as soon as he takes office.  Your tax dollars and mine should not be used to advance the killing of unborn babies, whether those babies are here in the United States or anywhere else in the world.  Yet, that’s exactly what Barack Obama is doing with your taxes.

This is just one more reason why Barack Obama must be defeated on November 6th!

You can help us achieve that goal, elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, and begin saving the lives of unborn children as soon as Mitt Romney becomes president.

You can do that by generously donating to the National Right to Life Victory Fund at the link below.  And please inform your pro-life friends that Barack Obama is giving their tax dollars to organizations that perform abortions, refer women for abortions andlobby for legal abortion in nations overseas.

Then ask your friends to donate to the National Right to Life Victory Fund, the grassroots political action committee that will get the pro-life vote out on November 6th!

Help us end this deadly cultural imperialism that would foist abortion on the laws of pro-life nations.  Help us defeat Barack Obama and reinstate the life-saving Mexico City Policy in 2013!

Sincerely,

Carol Tobias,
President
National Right to Life
