National Right to Life Endorses Akin, Brunner and Steelman in Missouri’s US Senate GOP Primary

National Right to Life is announcing a three-way endorsement in Missouri’s U.S. Senate Republican primary election, to be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.

National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Rep. Todd Akin, businessman John Brunner, and former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman for election to the U.S. Senate.

All three candidates are strong advocates for life:  they support pro-life legislation and oppose the use of federal funding for abortion.

The winner of the primary will challenge Senator Claire McCaskill (D), who has a 100 percent pro-abortion voting record throughout her six years in the Senate.  McCaskill has voted in favor of federal funding of abortion.  Claire McCaskill also voted to confirm two Supreme Court justices who had histories of supporting extreme pro-abortion positions.  McCaskill even voted to enact President Obama’s pro-abortion health care law, which will provide government funding for health plans that pay for abortion on demand, and will result in the rationing of lifesaving medical treatments.

Akin, Brunner, and Steelman oppose Obama’s pro-abortion, pro-rationing health care law and would vote to repeal it.
