“On pro-life issues, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama provide a stark contrast. Despite his moderate campaign rhetoric in 2008, since taking office Barack Obama has relentlessly pursued a radical abortion choice agenda,” said Gayle Atteberry, Executive Director of Oregon Right to Life. “It is now time for pro-life Americans to unite behind Mitt Romney. We cannot allow the billion dollar a year abortion industry to continue to prey upon unborn children from the White House.”
Since taking office in 2008, President Obama’s administration has provided U.S. tax dollars to abortion-performing organizations overseas. It has withheld federal dollars from states that have passed laws restricting abortion. The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded no-bid contracts to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, and has rescinded grants from religiously affiliated organizations that do not refer for abortion. Finally Obama pushed to have enacted the Affordable Care Act which allocates tax money to fund abortion in insurance exchanges across the nation.
“After experiencing the radical policies of the last four years, we are so grateful that every candidate who ran for the Republican nomination for president this year took a pro-life position and kept the life issues at the forefront of the race,” Atteberry added. “We will do everything in our power to ensure Mitt Romney’s election as our next pro-life President on November 6th.”
Governor Mitt Romney has pledged to defund Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, restore the Mexico City Policy, support legislation to ban abortions based on fetal pain, and appoint only constitutionalist judges to the federal bench. Governor Romney has also committed to selecting a pro-life Vice President.
