WORKSHOPS dealing with Post-Abortion Syndrome:

“Unmasking the Hidden Effects of Abortion on Men”  Marriage and Family Therapist Greg Hasek explains the hidden effects of abortion on men using different masks as a metaphor. He discusses what he has learned over the years of working with hundreds of men who have lost a child due to an abortion decision. He gives an inside look into what he has learned about the masks and the purpose they should serve for both men and society as a whole. He suggests that until these masks are identified and acknowledged, the impact of abortion on men will continue to be minimized.

“Cultural Changes in the Post-Abortion Healing Landscape”  There are many cultural and sociological circumstances that have changed in America since the legalization of abortion. This workshop will highlight the history of the post-abortion experience in our culture. There will be in depth discussion of the effect of the post-abortion message as it relates to the larger Pro-Life debate in society as a whole. Why after over 30 years there is still SO much resistance to accepting that abortion does hurt women, men and their families? The speakers will discuss developments like the internet and new approaches to research about abortion. The speakers will also address some of the more effective and important issues to consider when providing help to mother, fathers, and others after an abortion.

“I Had An Abortion! What Do You Say Next?”  Just what is the right thing to say to someone that tells you they have had an abortion, or participated in one? How can pro-lifers respond truthfully, yet compassionately to the sometimes shocking reality of a friend or relative’s abortion story?

“Why Teens Abort: A Recipe for Future Failure” Dr. Wanda Franz, Professor of Adolescent Psychology will discuss the current scientific understanding about the short and long term damaging effects of abortion on teenage girls. Mrs. Gardner and Ms. Cross will comment on their own experiences as teenagers who had abortions, the effect on their families and their lives in general.
