LOUISVILLE-The Kentucky Right to Life Association (KRLA), Kentucky’s only official affiliate for The National Right to Life Association, has endorsed Mitt Romney for President of the United States.
David M. Bauscher, Chairman of KRLA’s Political Action Committee, said, “With this endorsement of Governor Romney and with our on-going effort to make voters aware of President Obama’s injurious pro-abortion policies, we want to ensure that the state of Kentucky stays in the pro-life column this November.”
Mitt Romney has taken a strong pro-life position and is committed to implementing policies to protect the unborn, the medically dependent and disabled, and the elderly. Romney opposes abortion and has called the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, “a big mistake.” He supports the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortion. Romney is also opposed to embryonic stem cell research.
In contrast, President Obama has been an outspoken advocate for abortion and has worked unceasingly to expand funding of and access to abortion. He rescinded the Mexico City Policy, threatened to veto the entire federal spending bill-forcing a government shutdown-rather than accept a provision cutting funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. President Obama also championed the so-called Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) while opposing pro-life amendments in the Senate.
