National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias shares with her PLP audience today the story of a very brave 100-year-old Minka Disbrow, reunited with her baby girl, Betty Jane, who was conceived in rape nearly eight decades ago.
Quoting from a story by the Associated Press’s Amy Taxin, Mrs. Tobias tells us how Minka Disbrow tried for most of her 100 years to find the daughter she had bravely given up for adoption. “The cruel act of violence bore in Disbrow an enduring love for the child,” Taxin writes. “She kept a black and white photograph of the baby bundled in blankets and tucked inside a basket.”
Knowing she couldn’t bring the baby back to the farm, Disbrow made the great sacrifice of placing her daughter for adoption. “I loved that baby so much. I wanted what was best,” Disbrow told AP. But she never forgot.
The story is so compelling no summary could do it justice. You will want to hear it for yourself at www.prolifeperspective.com. The saga of how this reunion came to be—and the memories shared because of it—make for must listening.
