Pro-Abortionists Understand we are making important strides

By Dave Andrusko

I’d like to share the good news that National Right to Life News Today entries now shows up when you do searches at Google News. So between people surfing Google or signing up to have NRL News Today sent directly to them, an enormous number of people are viewing materials we produce.

And that includes pro-abortionists. One site keyed off of a notice we ran yesterday of the annual meeting of The Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change, which takes place the night before the National Right to Life Convention begins in Jacksonville on June 23.

I mention this for two reasons. One to encourage you to have people sign up to receive NRL News Today. You go to http://www.nrlc.org/join_our_mailing_list.htm and it takes literally 30 seconds to begin receiving our daily electronic newspaper. This is a hugely valuable resource.

Second, pro-abortionists ARE aware of the gains we [the “anti-reproductive rights group”] made. The site that began by talking about the Association’s emphasis this tune on chemical abortions (RU486) also then told its audience about some of our other triumphs.

Keep up the good work! And for good measure, I’m reprinting the notice below. I hope many of you attending the convention can get there early.

Annual Association Meeting to Focus on Special Dangers Associated with RU486

By Wanda Franz, Ph.D., President, Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change

The Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change, established in 1985, is an association of pro-life professionals from clinical and academic areas. Its growing membership includes counselors, therapists, professors, psychologists, psychiatrists, researchers, and lawyers. The Association’s two primary goals are (1) to provide opportunities for increased professional activity through mutual sharing of knowledge and experience between and among these professions, and (2) to provide a venue for the dissemination of research to the pro-life community.

To share research and insights with the pro-life community, an annual presentation of research papers is held immediately preceding the National Right to Life Committee convention. This year’s program will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at the NRLC Convention Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida at 8:00 p.m.

The program this year is focused on the topic of chemical abortions using RU-486.  The speakers will look at the special dangers posed by this type of abortion. This is especially important because the abortion industry has been working to increase the use of chemical abortion procedures in this country and abroad.  Speakers include:

Randall K. O’Bannon, Ph.D., Director of Education and Research, National Right to Life Committee:  “The Introduction and Expansion of Mifepristone (RU-486) in the United States.”

Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D., Professor Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio: ”Chemical Abortion:  Psychological Risks to Women”

Donna Harrison, M.D., Director of Research and Public Policy, American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists: Maternal Mortality and Chemical Abortion

Martha Shuping, M.D., Psychiatrist, Author and Continuing Education Instructor on Women’s Mental Health and Reproductive Issues: “Women’s Mental Health After Abortion”

The CD for the program will be available for purchase from the NRLC Convention Office.  The meeting is free and open to the public.  It is not necessary to register for the Convention to attend.  Refreshments will be served at 10 p.m. after the presentations have concluded.
