When you support Indiana Right to Life, you help to support our five-year strategic plan to raise up the next generation of pro-life leaders in Indiana through programs like our annual Student Day at the Statehouse. This year’s Student Day, held in mid-February, offered another striking example of just how eager the next generation is to speak on behalf of the unborn in the public policy arena.
Over 115 student participants, along with parents and chaperones, learned valuable lessons during the day in how the policy process works in Indiana and how every person can have an impact in advancing legislation that nurtures and protects life. The teens in attendance represented a broad spectrum of backgrounds including public, private, parochial and home school students.
Policy leaders who addressed the students included Rep. Matt Ubelhor, Rep. Sue Ellspermann, Sen. Jim Banks, Sen. Mike Delph and others. The office of Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman graciously helped to facilitate the day’s events.
