On This July 4, We Know the Scourge of Abortion

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

With these words in the Declaration of Independence, a new country was formed. One that was intended to respect the unalienable right to Life of all people. That right is denied to 2500 unborn children every day in our country as their lives are snuffed out by abortion.

We are proud of our country; we love our country. But the scourge of abortion is a dark stain on our heritage, a scourge that we—you and I—are called to remove from our nation, just as the scourge of slavery had to be removed.

Please join me today in saying a prayer for our country, for, as President Ronald Reagan wrote, “The Conscience of a Nation.” Let us pray that unborn children would be recognized as fellow human beings deserving of dignity and the right to live.
