National Right to Life endorses Jim Renacci for Ohio Senate, opposes Sherrod Brown

Published on

WASHINGTON –National Right to Life has endorsed pro-life Rep. Jim Renacci in Ohio’s U.S. Senate election. Renacci faces pro-abortion Senator Sherrod Brown on the November 6 ballot.

“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Jim Renacci, whose position on life reflects the true values of Ohio’s voters,” said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president. “There is a stark contrast between Jim Renacci, who supports legal protection for unborn children, and Sherrod Brown, who supports abortion for any reason until birth.”

Renacci co-sponsored and voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act – legislation to protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.

Renacci is challenging Sen. Sherrod Brown (D), who is supported by the extreme pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America, and by the nation’s largest abortion provider – Planned Parenthood. Brown has voted against the pro-life position on abortion every chance he had for decades. He voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Brown supports using tax dollars to pay for abortion. Brown supports giving hundreds of millions of dollars of government funds to the nation’s largest abortion provider. Brown even cosponsored S. 510, legislation that would invalidate nearly every state and federal limit on abortion.

Rep. Renacci’s pro-life record contrasts greatly with Brown’s. Jim Renacci opposes abortion on demand, and he opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion.

The endorsement of Jim Renacci for Ohio Senate by the National Right to Life organization and their opposition to Sherrod Brown underscores the pivotal role of abortion and related issues in political campaigns, particularly in battleground states like Ohio. The decision to endorse Renacci and oppose Brown reflects the organization’s alignment with candidates who advocate for policies consistent with their pro-life stance and values.

Jim Renacci’s endorsement by National Right to Life signifies his commitment to advancing pro-life policies and legislation if elected to the Senate. Renacci’s stance on issues such as abortion access, funding, and related healthcare policies likely aligns closely with the priorities of the National Right to Life organization and its supporters. By endorsing Renacci, the organization signals its endorsement of his pro-life agenda and his potential to further their goals in the Senate.

Conversely, the opposition to Sherrod Brown by National Right to Life suggests that Brown’s positions on abortion and related issues are not in line with the organization’s objectives. Brown’s stance on reproductive rights, including support for abortion access and related healthcare policies, likely diverges from the pro-life stance advocated by National Right to Life. As a result, the organization has chosen to oppose Brown’s candidacy in the Ohio Senate race.

The endorsement of Renacci and opposition to Brown by National Right to Life underscore the significant role of abortion and related issues in shaping political discourse and electoral outcomes. In battleground states like Ohio, where social and cultural issues often play a prominent role in elections, endorsements by organizations like National Right to Life can carry considerable weight and influence voter opinions.

Ultimately, the endorsement of Jim Renacci and opposition to Sherrod Brown by National Right to Life reflect the organization’s mission to promote pro-life policies and candidates who align with their values. As the Ohio Senate race unfolds, the positions of candidates on abortion and related issues will continue to be key factors for voters, highlighting the ongoing significance of reproductive rights in American politics.
