On Thursday, February 8th, the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee held a legislative hearing on the Senate version of proposed Assisted Suicide legislation. Extremely strong arguments by dozens of expert witnesses in opposition to Assisted Suicide were heard. We await a vote by the committee soon. We ask you to once again reach out to legislators, especially to committee members who are still undecided, and urge them to vote NO.
The bill will also be heard by the House Health and Government Operations and Judiciary Committees (HGO/JUD) on Friday, February 16th.
HERE’S HOW YOUR VOICE CAN BE HEARD
Please go to the TAKE ACTION tab at MDRTL.org to learn more and to send a pre-written, editable, email to hearing committee members as well as your state Representative and Senator. We need to send thousands of messages, and YOUR VOICE MATTERS.
REMEMBER – Your voice is strongest when you CALL legislator offices and inform the legislative aid that you OPPOSE Assisted Suicide and urge a “NO” vote. You will not be required to debate. Phone numbers for your legislators’ office will display when you click the phone icon after sending the email message. Please take this important next step!
Thank you for standing up for our most vulnerable citizens and keeping them safe from Assisted Suicide.
