Pro-abortion groups want to strike down the commonsense protections for unborn babies and their mothers that the pro-life movement has worked for decades to achieve. If they had their way, abortions in Ohio, even late in pregnancy, would be free, widely available, and common.
Abortion advocates know that they do not have the votes in the Ohio Legislature or the support of pro-life Governor Mike DeWine to enact their agenda. Instead, they plan to circumvent the legislative process entirely by pursuing a ballot initiative. They are spending millions of dollars on a campaign of misinformation to convince voters to make unlimited abortion a part of the Ohio state Constitution.
Currently, Ohio’s ballot initiative process is one of the most easily manipulated in the country. Outcomes are often swayed by which side has the most money. It should not be this way. Especially when we are talking about the fate of vulnerable unborn babies and their mothers.
Issue 1 would raise the threshold percentage of votes required to win from 50% to 60%.
By voting YES on Issue 1, we can make it more difficult for abortion advocates to institute their radical abortion agenda in Ohio.
