Our Work is Not Done

By Heather Weininger, Executive Director, Wisconsin Right to Life

Tuesday’s election results were deeply unsettling. Wisconsin’s newest Supreme Court Justice, Janet Protasiewicz, is no friend to the pro-life position.

Protasiewicz’s victory has shifted the balance of the Supreme Court to a 4-3 liberal majority for the first time in 15 years, and we cannot overstate the long-lasting effects that will come from this. Wisconsin’s abortion ban is currently being attacked by Attorney General Josh Kaul in a Dane County court, and if it’s brought before the Supreme Court, it doesn’t stand a chance.

This is Wisconsin’s Roe v. Wade moment.

If this court finds a “right to abortion” in our state constitution, it has the opportunity to set Wisconsin’s abortion policy for decades to come. All of the pro-life protections that have been put into place will be tossed out, and Wisconsin will become an abortion haven again.

The stakes have never been higher. We mobilized pro-life voters in this election like never before, but our work is not done. We need to invest in our grassroots effort if we want to continue to fight the money being poured into our state by the abortion lobby.

This is our Roe moment. Join us as we continue to fight for the right to life in our state and beyond.

For their lives.
