SB 131’s goal is to make Nevada an abortion tourism destination

Nevada Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzarro

After millions of dollars dumped into Nevada to elect pro-abortion legislators in the 2022 cycle, it is no surprise that the Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzarro used her FIRST bill as a thank you to the abortion industry.

On February 20, SB131 was heard in the Commerce and Labor Committee which is fitting as the bill hopes to bolster Nevada as an abortion tourism destination while disregarding the health and safety of women, children, and unborn babies.

SB131 limits the ability of any healthcare licensing board to disqualify unsafe abortionists from practicing in Nevada “based on discipline, judgment, or any sanction threatened or imposed in another state”, turning our state into a dumping ground for hack abortionists. As it is now, veterinarian clinics and nail salons are subject to greater safety regulations than abortion clinics in Nevada.

Children will be at risk. In the state of Nevada a young girl can’t get a Tylenol at school without parental consent, but that same girl – even if she is as young as 9 or 10 can get an abortion without a parent even knowing.

Predators and Child Sex Traffickers know Nevada has no parental involvement laws. SB131 makes it clear that Nevada will not cooperate in the prosecution of those who traffic children over the border to Nevada’s complicit clinics.

Parents all over the United States should be concerned, as girls as young as 9 or 10 could be transported to Nevada and coerced into an abortion without their parent’s knowledge. Bordering states of Arizona, Utah, and Idaho all have robust parental consent laws and Planned Parenthood is looking to expand in locations that can help young girls skirt these laws.

Planned Parenthood also hopes to cash in on women’s heartbreak by offering fly-in “spa vacation” abortions in Nevada: Fly to Reno, catch a shuttle to the new 8,000-square-foot state-of-the-art abortion clinic, and fly home.

West Wendover, a small economically disadvantaged Nevada town on the border of Utah, is the next site for a Planned Parenthood abortion facility.

Make no mistake – this is not about healthcare. This is just abortion as a commodity, a cash cow that repays donors who bought legislative seats through malicious lies about candidates and the status of the law in Nevada. Abortion tourism is the Democrats’ attempt to diversify the economy on the backs of unborn children and desperate mothers.
