Pro-life Ark. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will give the Republican response to pro-abortion President Biden’s State of the Union Address

Talk about stark contrasts. Pro-life Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the youngest governor in the United States, will deliver the Republican response to pro-abortion President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address next week.

Huckabee easily defeated Democrat Chris Jones, 63% to 35%, to  become the first female governor in Arkansas history.

“Throughout her career, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has demonstrated that she is unapologetically pro-life and unafraid to be a voice for the voiceless,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Unborn children and their mothers in Arkansas will have a champion in Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Governor.”

During the Trump Administration, Sarah Huckabee Sanders served as White House Press Secretary, a role in which she regularly defended pro-life policies. During her tenure, she was a key voice in the Administration as it issued pro-life executive actions, nominated judges, and supported pro-life legislative efforts in Congress.

“Sarah Huckabee Sanders believes in the sacredness of each and every human life,” said Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life. “We know Sarah Huckabee Sanders will do everything in her power as governor to keep Arkansas abortion-free and the most pro-life state in the union.”

While she was running for governor, the Supreme Court handed down its historic Dobbs decision overturning  Roe v. Wade, a decision she celebrated.

“For decades, this is a day so many of us have prayed for and worked towards. I am thankful for the brave resolve of the six Supreme Court justices who – while receiving death threats and extreme political pressure – did what is right: defending the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable in our society.

As Americans, we value the sanctity of life, and it is in our very nature to protect it. As a mom, I know the love that each of my three children have brought to our family, and, as governor, I will fight to keep Arkansas one of the most pro-life states in the nation.”

Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House, said “She is a servant-leader of true determination and conviction. I’m thrilled Sarah will share her extraordinary story and bold vision for a better America on Tuesday. Everyone, including President Biden, should listen carefully.”

In a statement, Huckabee Sanders said, “I am grateful for this opportunity to address the nation and contrast the GOP’s optimistic vision for the future against the failures of President Biden and the Democrats.”
