So, short of warning of an impending asteroid about to strike the United States, pro-abortionists have pulled out every imaginable end-of-the-world scenario now that the Supreme Court has dispatched Roe v. Wade to its just rewards. At the head of the allegations, of course, is that all abortions will be banned. In fact, what the abortion industry fears most of all is democracy. Dobbs versus Jackson returned the abortion issue to the states and Congress where it was before Justice Harry Blackmun’s Roe decision came crashing down on an unsuspecting public.
The irony is there for anyone with eyes to see. Pro-abortion Democrats in Congress are trying their absolute best to pass legislation (thrice), such as the Women’s Health Protection Act that would not “codify Roe” but obliterate laws that have been upheld by the High Court in the time since Roe was decided.
But, on the topic of exaggeration/lies, you have the likes of Whoopi Goldberg who suggested on The View that slavery may be re-instituted! It’s one thing for a television personality to go off the deep end, but Goldberg was joined in the pool of distortionists by Vice President Kamala Harris.
During an appearance at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, “Seemingly making a reference to slavery, Harris suggested that the country is moving backwards now that the Supreme Court determined that there is no constitutional right to an abortion,” according to National Review Online’s Carol Downey.
“We have to recognize we’re a nation that was founded on certain principles that are grounded in the concept of freedom and liberty,” Harris said. “We also know that we’ve had a history in this country of government trying to claim ownership over human bodies.” Harris added for emphasis, “We had supposedly evolved from that time and that way of thinking …So this is very problematic on so many levels.”
One other quote: “The Supreme Court, with the Dobbs decision, for the first time in the history of our nation, took a constitutional right that had been recognized, and took it from the women of America,” Vice President Harris added. “Took a constitutional right.”
I’m not sure we need a “seemingly.” It was pretty obvious that Harris was alluding to slavery. When you’re desperate, as abortion advocates are now, you’ll throw out anything to take our eyes off the liberating Dobbs decision.
Just as January 22, 1973 will forever be a date etched in the hearts of pro-life champions, so, too, will June 24, 2022. If anyone’s chains were taken away, it is the unborn child’s.
