National Right to Life Committee Applauds the Republican Study Committee for its Support of the Heartbeat Protection Act

WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, the Republican Study Committee endorsed the Heartbeat Protection Act introduced by Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.).

“We applaud the Republican Study Committee for endorsing this vital legislation,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Tragically, 60% of all abortions are done after the baby’s heart has begun to beat. Rep. Kelly’s bill would protect these little babies with a beating heart.”

“While the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats continue to promote abortion up until birth, we thank Chairman Banks and the Republican Study Committee for standing up for life,” said Jennifer Popik, J.D., director of federal legislation for National Right to Life.
