When I read Politifact’s “Jeanine Pirro wrongly says there are 63 million abortions per year in the U.S.,” it reminded me how important it is that we are 100% accurate. Obviously, this was a slip of the tongue by Judge Pirro. She does not possible believe that there are 63 million abortions a year.
They asked a spokesperson for Fox News for comment. They “told PolitiFact that Pirro was referencing a report by the National Right to Life Committee that estimates 63 million abortions have been performed since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.”
But by misspeaking about an accurate assessment from National Right to Life, it gave Politifact’s Sara Swann the opportunity to politely skewer Pirro, who made the error on the May 3 edition of “The Five,” and opine “We rate this claim False.”
