Fetal Development

Here goes fact #17 for the 17th week of development inside the womb!

Week 17: This baby is about the size of an avocado, and could fit in the palm of your hand.

The baby’s heart beats twice as fast as ours, at about 150 beats per minute . In order to generate heat in the body, brown fat must be deposited. This is a special type of fat that begins to deposit at around this time. Also, by 17 weeks, if the baby is a girl, her fallopian tubes and uterus are fully formed and in place. #40weeks40facts
