Wisconsin State Assembly Passes Package of Pro-Life Bills

This afternoon, the Wisconsin State Assembly passed four pro-life bills that were previously passed in the State Senate:  The Born Alive Survivors Protection Act (AB6), A Woman’s Right to Know Act (AB593), the Prenatal Diagnosis Information Act (AB594), and the Shield the Vulnerable Act (AB595).

“The heart of the pro-life movement is supporting women and their unborn children,” said Gracie Skogman, legislative director of Wisconsin Right to Life.

Skogman continued, “The bills passed in the Assembly today exemplify this mission. Ensuring that women are given potentially lifesaving information when given the chemical abortion pill regimen and providing expectant parents with support and medically accurate information when presented with a diagnosis of a congenital condition in their unborn child, are powerful parts of this mission.  Additionally, protecting the lives of babies born alive after a failed abortion attempt, and defending unborn children regardless of race, gender, or disability diagnosis are also powerful steps in this direction.”

Heather Weininger, executive director of Wisconsin Right to Life, stated, “It’s clear after the debate on the floor today that the pro-abortion extremists in the Assembly failed to read the bills they voted against. If they care about the future of America, it begins in the womb. Without life nothing else can matter.”

Weininger added, “Wisconsin Right to Life thanks members of the State Assembly that voted in favor of these life-saving bills. While we expect them to be vetoed on the Governor’s desk, we look forward to ensuring that Governor Evers hears from his constituents.”
