Biden approval rating drops to new low

By Dave Andrusko

“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration” — Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy in a prepared statement.

As the polling firm Fivethirtyeight observed, in the understatement of the century, “Biden Approval Rating Isn’t Bouncing back.” In fact his approval rating have cratered with no end in the sight.

Biden’s approval rating has dropped precipitously—from 42% just three weeks ago to 38%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. This is highly significant in that the poll produced by Quinnipiac University almost always produces the highest possible Democrat numbers.

Even more ominous for the president is that while 80% of Democrats approval of his job performance, Republicans (94% to 4%) and independents (60% to 32%) disapprove of his performance.

On top of that, by a margin of 55% to 42%, the survey of 1,326 adults taken between October 1-4 believe the Biden-Harris administration is not competent to run the government.

“Respondents also seemed to distrust Biden, with just 49 percent saying they believe he cares about average Americans,”according to Caroline Downey. “However, 50 percent believe Biden is dishonest while 44 percent believe the opposite. Furthermore, 56 percent don’t have faith in the president’s leadership skills, suggesting faltering confidence in his ability to preside over the country.”
