Virginia Democrat candidates pledge their support for abortion up to birth with no restrictions

On Wednesday, the Democrat candidates for Governor, Terry McAuliffe, Lt. Governor, Hala Ayala, and Attorney General, Mark Herring, made it clear that if they are elected on November 2, they will work to strip away every last reasonable protective pro-life law on the books in Virginia. They have committed themselves to the passage of a “Right to Abortion Amendment” to the Constitution of Virginia as soon as possible.

At a press conference, the three top-of-the-ticket candidates did little more than grandstand for the benefit of their pro-abortion backers. They  once again stressed their support for the radical abortion agenda of NARAL and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion promoter.  Their comments used typical scare tactics and red herrings to alarm Virginia voters.

They promised to oppose any new protective pro-life laws, including those that protect unborn babies who can feel pain in the womb, and to advance the pro-abortion agenda begun at the General Assembly two years ago when Democrat legislators took control  of the General Assembly and Ralph Northman won a narrow victory to become governor.

The extremist pro-abortion lobby in Richmond has already removed the Women’s Right to Know Laws and expanded abortion funding using our taxes. None of the Democrat candidates have rejected the bizarre comments of Gov. Northman in 2019 when he suggested that it would be acceptable to allow a newborn child to die who survived an abortion attempt. Terry McAuliffe has stated that he supported those comments.

“This election is a clear decision between the radical views of these hard-core pro-abortion candidates and those who respect every human life and will preserve Virginia’s pro-life laws,” said Olivia Gans Turner, Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL) president. “The laws that VSHL and a new pro-life government may pursue in Richmond are commonsense laws that protect unborn children and their mothers from the abortion industry.”
