Will Planned Parenthood’s advertising ever reach bottom?

By Maria V. Gallagher, Legislative Director, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

Talk about something leaving a bad taste in your mouth…Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion operation, has a new fundraising gimmick.

The abortion giant is trying to command more cash by hawking a decidedly distasteful drinking mug to its donors.

The mug comes emblazoned with a picture of a tea bag and the phrase, “Abortion rights are my cup of tea.”

It’s appalling that anyone would make light of the loss of 62.5 million Americans from abortion. It is a tragedy beyond measure, and a sign that society has failed women.

To be glib about abortion is the height of perversity but appears embedded in Planned Parenthood’s DNA.

Planned Parenthood must believe that their supporters have a strong stomach for such rhetoric. The abortion behemoth has been advertising the tasteless merchandise in emails and text messages.

An email proclaimed, “This mug fights for reproductive freedom.” But abortion makes women anything but free. It traps them, creating more problems rather than “solving” even one.

Pro-abortion messaging has always been painful to digest, but this sort of rhetoric seems to be particularly disgusting. How many lives must be lost…how many women wounded…in the name of Big Abortion?

I am also reminded of all the little girls who will not be able to host tea parties, because they never had a chance to be born. The slaughter of defenseless little girls and boys should never be anyone’s “cup of tea.”

There just aren’t enough mugs to hold all the tears that have been shed over girls lost to abortion. It’s a catastrophe that is beyond measure—one that can only be ended with the fall of the Roe regime.
